30,000 islands. One Stockholm DMC
Private-island buyouts, classic-yacht regattas, harbour gala dinners and sauna circuits — all within an hour of Arlanda, all run end-to-end by a single experienced Adventy lead

Why Stockholm's Archipelago Is Different
The Stockholm Archipelago is one of the largest island systems in the world, stretching from the capital's waterfront all the way into the Baltic Sea. Unlike many coastal destinations, it combines accessibility with genuine remoteness — guests can leave a meeting in central Stockholm and find themselves on a private island less than an hour later. With approximately 30,000 islands, skerries and islets, the region offers an extraordinary range of venues and experiences.
- ~30,000 islands, skerries and islets
- Under an hour from central Stockholm
- Private islands reachable only by boat
- Historic lighthouses and sailing harbours
- Genuine remoteness, full logistical control
- Built for incentives, retreats and client events
Programme formats built for international groups
Most requests we receive ask for one of these archetypes — and most programmes combine two or three across a 2–4 day stay. We design the full arc, source the venues that aren't on any booking site, and run the day on the water with you.
Private island
Whole-island buyouts for 40–400, with overnight cabins, gala dinners and sauna at the water's edge
Classic yacht
Schooner and m/y charters for executive retreats, board offsites and regatta-style team competitions
Harbour gala
Royal-era ballrooms and warehouse venues with private quayside arrival by boat
Active day
Sea-kayak expeditions, forage-and-cook workshops, cold-plunge and sauna circuits
Conference at sea
Mid-size conferences (80–250 pax) anchored on a private island with breakouts in lighthouse cottages
Winter shoulder
Ice-class vessel charters, snow-covered island lunches and Northern Lights–friendly outer-archipelago nights
The archipelago Adventy actually has keys to
The best archipelago venues aren't on any booking platform — they're four decades of relationships with island owners, captains and lighthouse keepers. We work across the inner archipelago for fast access from Stockholm, the middle archipelago for the iconic red-cottage scenery, and the outer archipelago for raw Baltic drama. Every programme is matched to a venue archetype, not the other way around.
- 01Private islands with 30–250 beds and full kitchen brigades
- 02Royal-era halls and waterfront ballrooms in central Stockholm
- 03Classic schooners, m/y charters and ice-class vessels for winter
- 04Lighthouse hotels and design hotels on Sandhamn, Vaxholm, Grinda and Utö
- 05Off-grid forest lodges with wood-fired sauna and cold-plunge jetties
A signature archipelago day, hour by hour
A typical programme starts late morning at a private quay in central Stockholm — coffee on board, scenic 45–60 minute transfer past Vaxholm fortress, arrival to a sauna-and-swim welcome on the island. Afternoon splits into activity tracks (sailing, foraging, kayak, archery, lighthouse hikes), reconvenes for a Royal Swedish menu at sunset, and ends either with a late-night transfer back to your Stockholm hotel or with overnight cabins on the island and a barefoot breakfast on the rocks.

FAQ
When is the best season for an archipelago programme?
Late May to early September for swimming weather and long light evenings. Midsummer week (late June) is iconic but books 9–12 months ahead. September is the value sweet spot — golden light, quieter waters, still warm enough for outdoor dining.
What size of group can the archipelago handle?
Comfortable from 20 to 400 on a single signature island; we'll split across two or three venues for 400–600. For board-level and exec offsites, 8–25 on a private schooner is a signature format.
What happens if the weather turns?
Every programme ships with an indoor contingency venue at no extra cost, and our boats are matched to the conditions — including ice-class vessels for winter shoulder. Sweden plans for weather; the day still happens.
Is the archipelago accessible for guests with mobility needs?
Most signature islands are step-free with accessible quays, ramps and toilets. Flag access needs at request stage and we'll match the venue and vessel to the group.
Can we stay overnight on a private island?
Yes — several signature islands sleep 30–250 across cabins and a main lodge, with full kitchen brigades and sauna. Two-night island stays are the most common request from incentive groups.
How sustainable is an archipelago programme?
Swedish-first sourcing is the default — local farms, local seafood, local crews. Most boats are diesel-electric or biofuel-eligible; we can deliver a per-event sustainability summary suitable for your internal ESG reporting.
How early should we send our request?
For 40–150 pax in shoulder season, 4–6 months is comfortable. For peak July or Midsummer week, send your request 9–12 months out — the right islands and captains book up fast. We've delivered fast-turn programmes in under 8 weeks where venues were still open.
What does an archipelago day or programme typically cost?
It's quoted per delegate against your request — venue, group size, season and ambition all move the number significantly. Rather than publish a misleading average, we'll see your request and come back with a transparent, line-item budget within a few working days.
