Northern Sweden — where extraordinary experiences become effortless

Swedish Lapland offers something increasingly difficult to find in corporate travel: genuine remoteness without sacrificing comfort, safety or logistics. Above the Arctic Circle, guests experience dramatic winter landscapes, frozen rivers, snow-covered forests and some of the world's best opportunities to witness the Northern Lights. Despite its remote location, the region is highly accessible through daily flights and a well-developed hospitality infrastructure designed for international visitors. For incentive groups, leadership retreats and executive programmes, Lapland creates a natural break from everyday routines — teams disconnect from distractions, spend time outdoors and share experiences difficult to replicate anywhere else in Europe.

Adventy in the Arctic since 1987

Adventy has delivered programmes throughout Sweden — including some of the country's most remote destinations — for nearly four decades. In Lapland our local network of lodges, Sámi hosts, guides and transport partners allows us to combine iconic Arctic experiences with the reliability international corporate clients expect. Every programme is tailored to the client's objectives, preferred activity level and group profile. Weather, daylight hours and seasonal conditions are carefully considered, with contingency planning built into every itinerary so the experience holds together regardless of conditions.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Kiruna

International guests typically connect through Stockholm Arlanda, with a 90-minute domestic flight onwards to Kiruna. Adventy manages meet-and-greet, specialist Arctic clothing fittings and private transfers to a wilderness lodge or design property in the Kiruna–Jukkasjärvi area. The programme opens with a welcome dinner introducing guests to Arctic produce and Sámi traditions, followed by a Northern Lights briefing (Aurora Borealis) covering the science, the forecast and what to expect over the coming nights.

  2. Day 2

    Husky & Sámi day

Morning husky sledding with a small, family-run kennel — guests drive their own teams under instruction across frozen forest trails. Lunch is hosted at a Sámi camp around an open fire, with reindeer at the centre of the cultural programme and conversation. The afternoon continues with reindeer-led activities and storytelling that connects guests to a way of life that has shaped the Arctic region for generations. Evening is kept flexible for an early Northern Lights chase if conditions are strong.

  3. Day 3

Ice Hotel & Northern Lights chase

A guided experience at the original Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi — rebuilt every winter from ice and snow harvested on the Torne River — combining art, design and hospitality. Depending on the request, the day can include a private ice-sculpting workshop, an art-suite tour, dinner inside the ice or even an overnight stay in a cold room. The evening is given to a guided Aurora Borealis chase with backup locations along the Torne valley to maximise viewing opportunities.

  4. Day 4

    Abisko & departure

Morning in Abisko National Park — home to some of the clearest Northern Lights skies in the world and a striking daytime landscape of frozen lakes and mountain birch forest. Soft-adventure options include snowshoeing, a chairlift ride up to the Aurora Sky Station or a relaxed Nordic lunch overlooking Lake Torneträsk. Coordinated transfers return guests to Kiruna airport, sequenced around onward flight schedules.

Planning notes

Planning a corporate event in Lapland: what international organisers should know

Many international planners have never organised an event above the Arctic Circle. The notes below cover the practical considerations we are most often asked about when planning a Lapland programme.

Winter conditions
Temperatures typically range from around −5°C to below −25°C depending on the month. Full specialist clothing and equipment are provided for every guest.
Daylight hours
Daylight varies significantly across the season. Early winter offers limited daylight and excellent aurora opportunities; late winter provides longer days and more outdoor activity time.
Travel logistics
Most programmes begin with a 90-minute flight from Stockholm Arlanda to Kiruna. Luleå is an alternative gateway for the southern part of the region.
Activity flexibility
Winter weather changes quickly. Every programme is designed with alternative options and backup plans to ensure a strong experience regardless of conditions.
Best season
November–March is the core winter window. Early-season favours aurora; late-season favours daylight, snow-stable activities and Ice Hotel access.
Accommodation
Wilderness lodges, design hotels and the Ice Hotel itself — including art suites and warm rooms. Adventy matches the property to the group's profile and objectives.
Sustainability
Sámi-led operators and low-impact suppliers form the core of our Arctic network. Measurable footprint reporting available on request.
Budget guidance
Lapland sits in the premium tier of Nordic incentive destinations.

Autumn bursts with colour, and as temperatures drop the evenings turn crisp and cool — making Swedish Lapland a true year-round destination.

  • Can we see the Northern Lights?

While sightings can never be guaranteed, Swedish Lapland is one of Europe's best destinations for viewing the Aurora Borealis. Programmes are designed to maximise viewing opportunities through flexible routing and backup locations.

  • Is Lapland suitable for corporate groups?

Yes. The region is increasingly popular for incentive travel, leadership retreats and executive gatherings seeking unique shared experiences in an organised, safe environment.

  • How cold does it get?

Winter temperatures vary throughout the season, typically between −5°C and below −25°C. Adventy provides specialist clothing and equipment designed for Arctic conditions to every guest.

  • Can the programme be customised?

Yes — every itinerary is tailored to the group's objectives, preferred pace and interests. Nothing here is off-the-shelf.

  • Is the Ice Hotel included?

The Ice Hotel can be included as a visit, dining experience, overnight stay or private event venue depending on the programme design.
