Challenge

Create a two-day kickoff for 53 participants travelling from across Europe and as far away as Australia — combining productive meetings, team building and authentic Swedish experiences in a unique coastal setting.

Solution

A sailing journey from Bullandö Marina to Sandhamn aboard skippered yachts, shoreline lunch en route, a waterfront conference hotel with spa, and outdoor experiences ranging from kayaking to guided walks and waterfront sports.

A journey through the archipelago

The experience began at Bullandö Marina, where participants were divided into teams and welcomed aboard sailing yachts led by experienced skippers. Sailing through the archipelago encouraged teamwork, communication and collaboration as participants worked together to navigate towards Sandhamn. Along the way, lunch was served on the shoreline, letting guests experience the natural beauty and tranquillity that make the Stockholm Archipelago one of Sweden's most iconic destinations.

Meetings and meaningful connections

Upon arrival in Sandhamn, participants checked into a waterfront hotel with conference facilities, accommodation and panoramic views of the surrounding islands. The conference programme was balanced with opportunities for relaxation and social interaction — formal meetings complemented by shared meals, informal networking and time to enjoy the archipelago environment. The first evening brought the group together for a hosted dinner followed by access to the hotel's spa facilities.

Discovering the destination

The second day combined conference sessions with outdoor experiences that let guests explore Sandhamn from different perspectives — kayaking in the archipelago, guided walks exploring the island's history and culture, or sporting activities by the waterfront. The event concluded with a lively farewell dinner by the harbour, bringing the group together one final time. Local traditions and Swedish hospitality added an authentic touch that many international guests highlighted as a memorable part of their visit.
